Life of Daysha

Growing up, life was far from easy. I was raised in a home with a racist grandfather and attended an all-white school, which left me struggling deeply with my identity. I carried a heavy weight of confusion and self-hatred, not knowing where I fit in or who I was supposed to be. I often felt lost, but somewhere inside, I always sensed that my life had a greater purpose—that I was meant to rise above my circumstances.

My journey has been filled with challenges that tested me in every way. I battled with depression and suicidal thoughts, and at one point even turned to drugs as a way to escape the pain. Those experiences broke me down, but they also shaped me. They forced me to confront myself, to decide whether I would let my struggles define me or allow them to transform me. Eventually, I chose transformation. I knew it was time to walk away from what was holding me back, and I made the bold decision to leave everything behind and move to a new state.

That move was more than just a change of location—it was a commitment to rewriting my story. I made a conscious decision to not only heal for myself, but to break generational cycles for my family and to serve as proof that change is possible. I wanted my life to be an example, a testimony, that no matter how broken you feel or how difficult your past has been, there is always a way forward.

Today, I live with the understanding that the dreams planted inside of us are not random. They are placed in our hearts for a reason. They are reminders that we are called to do more, to make a difference in this world. My pain has become my purpose, and my story is proof that no matter how dark life gets, there is always hope on the other side.

That is why I do what I do—not just for me, not just for my family, but to inspire others to chase the dream within them and to know that they, too, can overcome. Because if I can rise above my circumstances, so can they.”
